I appreciate all the response for the blog postings on CBD and wish to thank those who take the time to reach out. It seems like there is a desire to find and use natural substances to treat a wide range of mental and physical dysfunction. I have enjoyed interacting with many of you and fielding your questions; perhaps these interactions would be beneficial to a larger audience.
So here goes.
Q: What is the difference between the nano jellies and the tincture (oil)?
A: First of all, both contain CBD. Nano jellies come in the gummy form and are water soluble, thus faster onset and faster acting. The tincture is an oil and thus metabolized by the liver; the onset is slower and duration of effect longer.
Q: Do Green Compass CBD products contain THC (THC = Tetrahydrocannabinol = marijuana)?
A: Some of the products do contain THC but it is certifiably equal to or less than the legal limit of 0.3%.
Q: What is the difference between the CBD jellies, the tincture, and CBDA?
A: What is not commonly known is that the hemp plant contains well over 100 cannabinoids. We are most familiar with only two of them: CBD and THC (marijuana). Other cannabinoids include CBN, CBG, CBC, CBL, and CBDA. CBDA stands for cannabidiolic acid and is a precursor to CBD. It is a purer form of CBD and contains no THC at all, thus making it safer for those subject to drug testing. Some scientists also believe that CBDA provides more benefit when used to mitigate chronic pain, fighting off viruses, and balancing mood and hormones. CBDA is often used as an adjunct with CBD thus providing a dual or entourage effect.
Q: Do you feel it is legally and ethically acceptable for a Christian to sell CBD products?
A: Yes. CBD is legal both in Canada and the US. Ethically I am much more comfortable promoting and selling high quality third-party tested CBD than I am prescribing addictive narcotics and benzodiazepines, both of which are FDA approved and acceptable practice in our healthcare system.
Q: Is CBD regulated in any way? Is it FDA approved?
A: There is only one CBD product, to my knowledge, that has been FDA approved and that one is for certain types of seizures (Epidiolex). One of the reasons I support and sell Green Compass products is that they have been instrumental in seeking US Congressional support for stricter guidelines, regulation, and approvals for CBD products. This is because they already undergo intense scrutiny by third party testers, thus self-regulating and monitoring themselves.
Q: Is CBD safe to take with other medications?
A: It depends. If the medication you take has a warning to not take with grapefruit juice than use caution. If you are on blood thinners, CBD may increase the risk of bleeding. CBD can cause drowsiness so use common sense and caution if you use a sleeping aid, narcotics or benzos, all of which cause sedation. As a healthcare provider I am available to consult should you require assistance with dosing and reviewing your medications.
Note: Most healthcare providers will tell you to not take CBD with any other medications simply because there is no way to prove the actual ingredients and amount of CBD in most CBD products. In that regard, Green Compass is vertically integrated which means that they own every part of the process from the organic farms to the purification and packaging process. Every single product carries a bar code so you can trace the ingredients from the farm to the end product.
Q: Does Green Compass sell other products than jellies and tinctures?
A: Yes. Head over to the GC site and have a look. They sell collagen, skin products, topicals, functional mushrooms, and beverages (SIX, which is new for this year).
Q: What is the most economical way to purchase CBD products from Green Compass?
A: Quality CBD products can be expensive. Here are a few money-saving options. When purchasing always choose the “replenish monthly” option as it will save anywhere from $15 to $20 monthly. You can cancel at any time, no questions asked. My Friendshare code (535769) gives you $10 off your first order.
Note: You can also become an “advocate” and start making commission on sales which can go towards your own orders. As a healthcare provider with prescriptive authority I am happy to teach, consult, and assist in any way I can, should you decide to sign up under me. WhatsApp me at 574-238-8372 for more information.
Q; Does Green Compass ship outside of the US?
A: No, unfortunately they do not. However, if you can order to a US address, such as a family member, they can then ship it to you. So far this has worked well although it is an added expense. I should note that CBD is legal in both the US and Canada, but it is not legal to cross the border due to the fact that most CBD is unregulated and thus border officials have no way of knowing what the product actually contains. I personally feel it is ethically acceptable to ship GC products across because I know what they contain and can certify that they would hold up to rigorous testing.
Q: From what it looks like, you recommend CBD for everything from chronic pain to nausea to anxiety and depression. Why is this? Do you think CBD is a magic bullet?
A: I don't believe in magic or bullets so no, I don't feel CBD is the answer for everything. However, our bodies were created with their own endocannabinoid system and CBD receptors are found throughout the body, from the brain to the gut. I will post a link here with a diagram of the receptors and you will see why CBD has an effect on so many systems.
Q; Is there good scientific evidence for the positive effects of CBD?
A; So far all the research done points in a positive direction, that is, that CBD is beneficial. At the same time, much work is required yet as natural products seldom garner the same financial support as the pharmaceutical industry and thus it is difficult to perform long-duration randomized-controlled trials. See the link below.
In the interest of brevity, this will suffice. I continue to find this subject fascinating and feel that CBD is a great natural resource worth an honest try. I will also continue to research CBD and update as events warrant. Please let me know if you have more questions, as I will be glad to post another FAQ post.
As always, my goal is to provide an alternative to SSRIs, narcotics, benzodiazepines, and other pharmaceuticals, thus reducing side effects and enhancing quality of life.
If you have a testimonial of how CBD has helped you, please reach out. I would like to post some testimonials to give those interested a glimpse into what CBD is doing. I would prefer your testimonial either through WhatsApp at 574-238-8372 or my email at brsc70@gmail.com.
