CBD RECOMMENDATIONS & DOSING

CBD targets the endocannabinoid system, a lesser-known part of the nervous system, which has receptors throughout the body. These receptors are involved in regulating function in everything from the gut, to the heart, and the brain. For this reason, product types and dosing are much the same across the spectrum. For example, nano jellies and tincture are both used for depression, anxiety, and insomnia, in much the same dosing. Some exceptions would be made in increasing dosing for cancer pain, for example.

Remember that dosing all things natural is somewhat different then dosing medications. CBD is highly individual and the right dose for an individual may differ. For this reason some experimentation is needed before the sweet spot is found. This is reiterated by research that has found a lack of efficacy with CBD not only at too low of dose, but also too high.

Nano-jellies

  • Start with one half per day x 1 week, then increase to one full jelly per day. For some people, one half per day may be the dose they do best at; for others, a full jelly may be better.

  • Like any natural medications/supplements, CBD products can take time to work, and the regulation of the endocannabinoid system can be subtle. However, everyone is different, and some see results within days, others find it can take a few months.  I recommend giving CBD at least 3 months of consistent use.

Tincture/oil

Depending on your need and medical history, purchase the 750 mg bottle to start (some may benefit more from starting the 1000 mg bottle but please check with a Green Compass provider/seller first). Start with 2 drops per day x 1 weeks and then increase to 4 drops daily. Max dosing is one full "dropper" per day.

For customers who have started with the 500 mg oil, I would recommend changing your order to 750 or 1000 mg if you do not see results after 1-2 months.

  • Take the drops under the tongue on an empty stomach. The tincture/oil is processed by the liver and is more effective on an empty stomach.

  • We recommend full spectrum oil for anyone not subject drug testing. Testing will detect the minute legal amount of THC.

  • We recommend broad spectrum oil for truckers, health care workers, or anyone else subject to drug testing.

CBDA

CBDA oil is a pure form of the hemp product and is used as an adjunct to increase the effectiveness of other CBD products. Try the tincture and the jellies first, experiment with this to enhance metabolic effectiveness.

Special consideration - Pregnancy related issues

CBD products can provide relief from morning sickness, nausea, and vomiting. However, there are some nuances to this. Avoid the "sleep" products as they contain ashwagandha which is not safe for use during pregnancy. Otherwise, it is worth giving products like the tincture, CBDA, and nano jellies an honest try to bring relief to mothers.

For starters I recommend the CBDA isolate which is just one pure cannabinoid (type A) extract. This product alone is effective for some people but is most often used as an adjunct (add on) to the nanos and the tincture. Start with that and add nanos if needed.

Dosing regimen:

  • CBDA 500 mg bottle - start with 2-3 drops per day under tongue. Increase over one to two weeks to one full dropper.

  • Nano jellies - start with one half per day and increase to one full jelly daily.

  • Tincture - if you decide to use the tincture follow the same dosing structure at the CBDA. Make sure you buy the 750 mg bottle.

Best time of day to take CBD

Experiment with this. Some take in the morning, others at night. Evening administration is probably best as CBD products can cause drowsiness.

Shipping to Canada

  • Currently CBD products are legal in both the US and Canada. However, it is illegal to cross the border with CBD products due to lack of federal product regulations. I do not recommend attempting to cross a land-border as you could face confiscation of product, as well as personal charges, although this is highly unlikely. (Border crossing with CBD is highly dependent on the border agent - customers have been told this type of CBD is not what they are looking for and have allowed them to cross; others see all CBD as suspicious due to the fact that they cannot ascertain exact ingredients).

  • Green Compass products are third party tested for quality to ensure they contain exactly what they say they do; as well, GC is seeking federal regulation and FDA approval. For this reason, I feel that ethically GC products can be mailed to Canada. Customers can follow my links to the Green Compass products, order what they wish, pay for it, and then enter my US address (you may prefer sending it to a US family member who can forward it to you). The product is then repackaged and shipped to your address in Canada. Yes, it is more expensive, but this is the only way I know of at this time to get the product to Canadian customers.

  • Cost for shipping to Canada obviously differs depending on where you live. Cost ranges anywhere from $15 to $50 USD + $5 repackaging fee.

IMPORTANT:

  • If you feel CBD is not working for you, please let me know. We can review dosing and product and perhaps make some changes if you wish. If you decide you are not seeing benefits after an honest effort, I respect that as well.

  • Sometimes if you feel there is no benefit to CBD, stop taking it for a month or two and see how you feel off of it. Sometimes a CBD fast reminds us why we went on it in the first place; the changes can be slow and subtle and you may not realize how much it is actually helping.
